TREND: IMPROVING / ONGOING / DETERIORATING
The touring conditions have been great since the wind died off on Monday. There has been a few melt freeze events during the week with 15mm of crust on the surface. Lee slopes have roughly 40cm of loading and it is bonding well to the melt freeze layer down about 40cm. Below the Melt freeze layer (15mm thick) the sugary facets still exist. The tops of ridges and those area that have been striped of snow will be very icy. Crampons may be required in some areas
A small amount of snow fell on Thursday but this has been down to lee slopes with the increasing winds. Reports from the field today indicate there a still some hidden stashes to be found if you know where to look for them. Adam will be fresh in with observations on Sunday night.
