Welcome Snow, welcome people... glad you stopped by. Big dump last night. The team will be back in with some assessments by tomorrow night so what your looking at here is speculative regarding the snowpack stability. Arbitrarily a 20cm storm slab means trouble right? That said it's sitting on a very wet bed surface which makes for good adhesion, but... under that was some nasty big depth hoar. Mixed bag, frankly right now we have no idea, just a few good hunches that if the bushes aren't bonding the storm slab, we know there is buried nasties.
The schedule for stability assessment reports will be Thursdays and Mondays. The locations chosen are purposefully 'wind loaded' so that the exaggerated results are easier to asses. Locations are on or above tree-line, although this is 'conditions dependent'.
